Trump Ally and 'Dilbert' Comic Creator Scott Adams Dead at 68
Scott Adams, the creator of the beloved Dilbert comic strip and an influential commentator on politics and persuasion, has died at age 68 after a lengthy battle with metastatic prostate cancer. His passing was announced during a livestream by his ex‑wife, who read his final message to viewers.
Adams was known for predicting Donald Trump’s 2016 victory and describing Trump as a “master persuader” in his book Win Bigly, a phrase that helped cement his reputation in political circles.
When Scott Adams publicly shared his cancer prognosis in the summer of 2025, he was surprised to receive multiple calls from President Donald Trump checking in on him. Adams later recounted that Trump called more than once after hearing about his metastatic prostate cancer, and even left a voicemail that began with, “This is your favorite president,” which Adams joked he initially ignored because the number was unfamiliar. Trump’s message offered support and asked how Adams was doing, with Trump telling him directly, “If you need anything I’ll make it happen.” Adams described the outreach as both “weird and incredible.”
In late 2025, Adams publicly appealed for help securing treatment and noted his health was rapidly declining. President Trump responded on social media, writing simply, “On it!” after Adams asked him to assist with cancer care access.
In his final days, Adams embraced Christianity, sharing with followers that his faith had become central to his outlook on life and death. “You’re going to hear for the first time today that it is my plan to convert… I still have time, but my understanding is, you’re never too late,” Adams said, explaining his decision to embrace the faith as his life neared its end. “If it turns out there is something there and the Christian model is the closest to it, I win.”
