Real Madrid signed Cristiano Ronaldo from Man United for £85m after winning the Ballon D’or and FIFA best player in 2009, today WestHam is asking for £85m to sign Matheus Fernandes after getting relegated.
The game is gone.
🚨EXCLUSIVE: Joe Cole reacts on what BlueCo needs to do in order to get Chelsea back to where it belongs.
🗣"The more I watch Chelsea's recruitment strategy, the more baffled I become.
What is the point of having five or six sporting directors? Are we really supposed to believe they all agreed that Liam Delap and Alejandro Garnacho are the signings Chelsea need? Give me a break.
Chelsea are one of the biggest clubs in world football. Recruitment should be about signing players who immediately improve the team.
Too many voices often lead to poor decisions.
If things are going to change, they must change from the top. Reduce the number of decision-makers and create a clearer football vision. The club needs more accountability.
The squad also needs balance.
You can not rely only on young players. Last season showed that Chelsea lacked experience in key moments.
If Chelsea sign two or three young talents, they should also sign at least one elite and experienced player. The best teams are built on a mix of youth and experience.
The ownership has learnt absolutely nothing if Winstanley, Stewart, and Shields are still in jobs.
Working “with” the sporting directors is the PROBLEM.
Four years into the project. We cleared everyone out to replace it and we are going into a summer window with the fanbase wanting most of the squad to be sold. Nearly 2 billion spent.
Everyone on longterm deals. All clubs knowing we have a buy one get one free sale at the club
And the list keeps getting bigger and bigger…

I don't understand Pedro Neto any more. It looks like he has stopped improving.
He used to go at people 1v1 and asked the questions, now he prefers a back pass. Very frustrating.
Club legend Cesar Azpilicueta will retire from football at the end of the season.
Congratulations on a superb career, Azpi, and thank you for everything. 💙
Dear football,
Today, I want to share with you that this season will be my last as a professional footballer. After so many years living my dream, I feel it’s time to start a new chapter in my life.
Being honest, even though I have been preparing myself for this moment, I found it hard to write this letter. After 20 seasons , many people have played an important role in my career.
When I first kicked a ball as a child in Pamplona with my schoolmates, I never imagined the amazing journey ahead. I’m grateful for every moment: the wins, the tough losses, the challenges, and most of all, the people I’ve met and the friendships I’ve made along the way.
To my teammates, coaches, and every staff member at all the clubs I’ve been lucky to be part of, thank you for helping me grow as a person and a player every day. Wearing the shirts of CA Osasuna, Olympique Marseille, Chelsea FC, Atlético de Madrid, Sevilla FC, and representing my country at the biggest stages has been a true privilege. Every moment has meant so much to me…
🇪🇸 Unai Emery has won the Europa League five times, with three different clubs.
Sevilla: 🏆🏆🏆
Villarreal: 🏆
Aston Villa: 🏆
All three clubs have the word 'Villa' in them. 🤯
