“A lot of things we did in that movie were illegal.”
Gene Hackman, William Friedkin, and Philip D’Antoni break down filming The French Connection’s legendary chase:
26 blocks. 90 mph. Zero control. Near misses and one guy who nearly wiped out Hackman on his way to work.
With Apocalypto, Mel Gibson proved beyond doubt that he is a great filmmaker, bold, visceral, and fearless in his storytelling.
Iconic lines:

One of the greatest actors to never win an Oscar.
Three Academy Award nominations. Zero wins.
It was forged through performances that continue to inspire audiences, ignite conversation, and stand the test of time.
Some actors win Oscars. Some become legends.
Ridley Scott did not win an Oscar for Gladiator. I know it was a competitive field back in 2001, but as time passes, it’s hard to accept that Scott won zero Academy Awards despite the film’s five wins overall. Part of the relevance of this comes from the fact that this year, Scott is receiving an honorary Oscar from the @TheAcademy. I’m happy Ridley’s finally getting his credit but come one…Scott should own a statue just for this film alone.
A must-watch suspense driven action spy thriller, layered with raw emotion and tension, worth every second.
Section Chief Jo, a top agent with South Korea’s National Intelligence Service, is drawn into a deadly confrontation with North Korean undercover operatives

I still miss Gene Hackman. Don’t lecture me on the fact I never met the guy personally- who cares? I miss seeing this guy do his thing in movies. Hackman was one of those actors who just improved life even by .5%. That’s all it takes to make an impact on someone. Actors like Hackman don’t just fall out of the sky. He was once in a generation. So is Denzel Washington.

Batman officially hit U.S. theaters on June 23, 1989 — and superhero movies were never the same again.
Andy Garcia’s character in The Godfather Part III, Vincent Mancini, is actually one of the most formidable figures in the entire Godfather saga. He’s the most natural heir to Vito Corleone because he carries the best traits of his grandfather, his father, and his two uncles. Andy Garcia explains…
“Francis had conceived of Vincent as a combination of all the brothers, and the grandfather. He had the temper of Sonny, the smarts of Vito, the calculations of Michael, and the warmth of Fredo.”

We’ll see Tom Cruise like never before.
Reportedly one of the biggest challenges of his career… creatively

New energy. New edge. New legend.

Tom Ford is directing a new film that’s releasing this year & it’s his first film since Nocturnal Animals- which is an outstanding film. Ford’s upcoming film is called Cry to Heaven, an American historical drama written, produced, and directed by Ford. It’s based on the 1982 novel by Anne Rice & features none other than…Adele. I’m very excited.
