@korulang @rustaceans_rs I'm doing no such thing. And why you believe c calling malloc is different than what rust does is strange. Under the hood rust does the same thing, it's just syntax sugar.

Rust is now getting a stable allocator API as well so you can control where dynamically allocated things go

@korulang @rustaceans_rs This is a bit of a nothing burger point though. Any program that lets you allocate on the heap will do this, which is to say most languages. The alternative is having a language that is non functional for most use cases

@AstraKernel It builds fast for sure, but I find it lacking for the very things that I want in a language, namely strong types and having the language itself enforce a way of using the code.

The lack of enums and the error handling being as permissive as it is makes it bad for me

@esquizioto @LukasHozda 90% of the time you don't need explicit lifetimes. The only times I see them really be used is in parsers where the lifetime shit gets a bit trickier

@vaxryy Eclipse theia is vscode but truely open and fully customizable. Honestly it's better to make a custom ide from it than from vscode, I don't know why people use code as a base

@Marxon1134x @Aa61413240 @i2cjak Buy MacBook USB c chargers on amazon. Good price, and if you swap out the USB c on it for a truespec cable it basically will never fail you. Cheaper than a standard charge brick too.

I don't like apple, but those charge blocks are solid.

I've plugged laptops into phone chargers and literally either nothing happens, or if my laptop is smart it tells me the charger is too weak.

If you are having things catch fire, they aren't compliant with the spec

@lauriewired Rust has reflection, it's just not a language feature.

You use a macro library and get it, so you opt into it when needed and it doesn't really leak out where you dont
