Washington D.C. is the epitome of policy US, with a sprinkle of Europe. Smug faces, limit in building sizes, crazy prices and extreme concentration of decision makers are such a wild mix.
The US is visibly more rich than France now. 10 yrs ago they were roughly even, but now the difference is easily noticeable, even comparing to (peak) Paris.
It's easy to assume that getting rich in money will also mean you are rich in time. Often the contrary is the case.
Being rich is nice, but what you really want is (1) an income that exceeds your spending by a healthy margin and (2) a lifestyle that is free from rushing
