#PRIMARY2 was a rather crazy (ambitious) idea a few years ago: run of randomised trial of 660 patients to determine if PSMA PET can improve DIAGNOSIS of prostate cancer in selected men with uncertain findings on MRI, potentially reducing the need for painful biopsies.

We're thrilled to announce a major milestone in our first-in-human "VIOLET" study of ☢TERBIUM-161 PSMA for prostate cancer!
Not only have we seen no dose-limiting toxicities across 6 cycles up to 7.4 GBq in 30 patients treated to date, but we also wrapped up recruitment more than six months ahead of schedule. Building on this success, in a world-first, we’ve opened a new cohort at 9.5 GBq, and the first patient has just begun treatment.
Why Terbium-161?
❖ It emits additional Auger and conversion electrons beyond what Lutetium-177 offers, potentially enhancing the precision and power of treatment,
❖ Pre-clinical data demonstrates that Terbium-161 better targets small tumour clusters ("micrometastases") delivering deeper, more durable responses.

"Preoperative intraprostatic PSMA SUVmax increases monotonically with higher ISUP Grade Group and pathological tumour stage. Higher SUVmax is associated with reduced BCR-free survival. However, the use of single SUVmax thresholds for clinical decision making is not recommended as variability between studies is high."
