Suella Braverman is right to ask the Attorney General to review these sentences. But this case is bigger than fifteen men and one conviction.
To understand why, we need to look at the timeline.
Fiona Goddard was abused in Bradford in the 1990s. Nine men connected to her case were convicted in 2019.
Following those convictions, West Yorkshire Police continued reviewing historic intelligence using the Smith Algorithm. Through Operation Dalesway, further victims were identified and approached.
When a victim is identified, they are asked whether they wish to engage with a police investigation. Some do. Some do not.
One victim, who was abused between 2007 and 2011 from the age of 14, connected to Fionaโs case, chose to engage with the investigation. Her details were identified through historic intelligence linked to previous investigations.
Evidence was gathered, statements were taken, suspects were identified, arrested and charged.
In June 2026, fifteen men were sentenced for offences against her, receiving a combined 188 years in prison.
The timeline is important.
1990s: Fiona Goddard abused.
2015: Victim in the latest Bradford case identified by police.
2019: Nine men convicted in Fiona Goddardโs case.
2026: Fifteen men sentenced in the latest Bradford case.
This demonstrates how historic investigations continue to identify further victims and offenders years after the original offences took place.
Through the work of Operation Dalesway and the Smith Algorithm, further victims are still being identified and further investigations are continuing.
Having investigated these cases for many years, my view is that this is not a series of isolated cases. It is a network.
Historic investigations uncover further victims, further offenders and further connections.
Some victims linked to Bradford were trafficked to other parts of the country, including London and Glasgow. As each case is investigated, new lines of enquiry emerge and new victims are identified.
That is why these prosecutions are likely to continue for many years to come.
The offences may be historic, but the investigations are not finished. These crimes are still happening today. The methods may have changed, but vulnerable children are still being targeted, groomed and exploited.
This is not over. It is still being uncovered.
@chrrris@NadineDorries@BBC Separately registered party and could NOT have been a subsidiary or cooperative /sister party as Restore Britain wasn't registered at time of GE. There was No guarantee restore would get registered either. GYF set up to protect Rupert's seat in next GE.
@JonathanRo11063@chrrris@NadineDorries@BBC 2 separately registered parties. As restore would have had to be registered at the same time for great yarmouth first to be a regional division. It's not a cooperative as both names weren't on ballot. It's just a gimmick to preserve Rupert's seat in a GE.
Iโm boxing in 9 days at Manchester arena.

@christwine3@EssexPR No he was reported to police for threatening behaviour, the police rightly seized his guns and passed evidence to the CPS. So there was evidence, CPS decided to drop case for lack of evidence not because there was zero evidence. Rupert then failed to take zia to court.
@christwine3@EssexPR Yes they suspended him then removed the whip. Rightly so. Rupert a snide. The police thing redundant, Lowe would have been slung out anyway. Again reform a parliamentary party and have procedures to follow, police referral was necessary. Still an outstanding case for bullying.
@EveryoneD36955 Restore Britain is a waste of time. A fraud of a party set up with tory help. A party set up to hinder reform, nothing more, won't get in to government. Rupert doesn't run his X account, let's kids run the campaigns. A joke. Why bother.
@EssexPR He's been consistent from day 1 on grooming gangs, two tier policing, illegal immigration and mass immigration. A great spokesman even though he does a hell of a lot more behind the scenes. An asset to reform who is constantly attacked for being Muslim and Asian mostly by restore
