@chapell68 And taking away one ID (and replacing with a synthetic one) does not make it private. From the open documentation I do not see any advanced privacy technology being used. Happy to be corrected.

@hypersoren @aripap You said it. Privacy-branded. You can check the InfoSum's documentation on their website. From what I understand: they are a data processor, replacing the real-ID with an alternative one (most likely a one-way hash with a salt, but not sure as nothing is provided for this).

@chapell68 @aripap You can solve the trust issue through real decentralization, and making the software auditable. Most clean rooms are (currently) far away from it. For InfoSum, you still need to upload data to bunker, even dedicated, they could control, as they'd have the private key.

@RioLongacre @UofDigital They even claim data are encrypted with InfoSum's public key before being uploaded to InfoSum. This means InfoSum has the private key. Doesn't this give infosum itself all the control?

It looks like it acts as a data processor while replacing the classic ID with a one-way hash of it (maybe salted), so it is consistent across parties. Am I wrong?

@vedransekara @hovdingofficial It is probably through their smartphone app.... They have a functionality to send a notification to emergency contacts if something happens to you. So *maybe* that is how they "justify" it.
