🚨HORRIBLE: A child walks alone through the rubble, carrying his schoolbag as Israeli tank fire and aircraft strike nearby in Gaza.
He crosses hundreds of meters of destroyed homes, exposed to the immediate danger of being killed, just to reach his classroom.
This is a child’s reality in Gaza‼️

Sliman Mansour, the iconic Palestinian artist whose work became a symbol of resistance, has died at age 79. His art preserved Palestinian culture and heritage while documenting decades of struggle, displacement, and perseverance.
We mourn the passing of legendary Palestinian artist Sliman Mansour (1947–2026), who has left us at the age of 79. For over five decades, Mansour did more than create art—he painted the visual soul, memory, and enduring identity of Palestine.
From his iconic, heartbreaking masterpiece Camel of Hardship (Jamal Al Mahamel)—depicting an elderly porter carrying Jerusalem on his back—to his powerful earthworks crafted from mud, straw, and henna during the First Intifada as part of the "New Visions" collective, Mansour’s brushstrokes became synonymous with sumud (steadfastness). He famously boycotted Israeli art supplies to create from the very soil of his homeland, proving that art itself is a profound form of resistance.
He didn't just capture the struggle; he preserved the dignity, folklore, traditional dress, and landscapes of a people refusing to be erased. His galleries spanned the globe, but his heart and his canvas remained forever rooted in Birzeit and Jerusalem.
Though we have lost a master storyteller, a mentor, and a cultural pillar, his legacy will live on in every stroke of Palestinian resistance art and in the hearts of all who cherish freedom and memory.
“Revolution is not only shooting, it is art.” — Sliman Mansour
Rest in eternal peace. 🤍🕊️🇵🇸
One of his best performances on The Sopranos is the scene where he's talking to AJ about how Tony was always there for him in difficult times. All while he's wearing a wire to incriminate Tony. And you feel his remorse emerge more as the scene goes on
RIP
Hats off to doctoral student and podcaster Zhong Shu in Beijing, China, who did this fascinating and smart interview with Christopher Nolan about THE ODYSSEY yesterday, originally posted to Bilibili.
A great listen/watch.
Best performance of the World Cup in the Semi-Final vs. England. This game featured a laundry list of world class players — Kane, Jude, Rice, etc. — and he was the best of all of them.
39 years old. This is not normal.
