I have no more CLE presentations this reporting year. What am I going to do with a semi clear calendar for the next two weeks for the first time in a decade?! Oh wait, I have plenty to do...
Sharing your own experiences can be helpful teaching tools, but it is also important to take care of yourself afterwards. I know that, but I was reminded of that this morning.
Gave a presentation this morning relating microaggressions and implicit bias in the profession. This was not my first. I was looking forward to doing it for the organization, but I was not anticipating how physically and emotionally tired I would be afterwards.

Sleep is not overrated, my friends. Got 8 hours for the first time in weeks. Killed it in the gym this morning, and I feel like I can conquer the world. Imagine what I could do if this happened every night.

@Clevy_Law I've started asking myself if I had to do it tomorrow, would I still say yes? That has helped some, especially when it is something that is weeks/months out. If I'd do it tomorrow, it is likely something I really want to do.
Had I asked that question about my current task I'm working on, the answer would have been no. Lesson learned. I am just going to go ahead an pre-apologize to all of you who I will be saying no to for the rest of the year.
My life right now suggests I need to get better about saying no, so I'm going to start implementing the Tomorrow Rule: If I were asked to do this tomorrow, instead of (insert) weeks/months from now, would I say yes? https://t.co/DNoKkRY5T0
