Has been interesting, weird and morally uncomfortable here it's well past time to go. Still on FB and Insta. Will see how things go at dclode on bsky. What's social media like without narcissistic psychopathically greeedy men in charge?
@doritenholm@Rainmaker1973 It is a fascinating mystery. There are few accounts of orcas eating any terrestrial animals so it might be taste. But tho they can learn to exploit new prey, they also have strong cultural habits about what and how they hunt and eat too - which doesn't include humans!

@BoyanSlat Also stop producing so much cheap disposable nonbiodegradable stuff. We need better efficiency through our whole system from farm to factory to home. Close the gaps in product lifecycles to stop materials being wasted or discarded in the first place.
It's getting to the point that I'm wondering if it's even worth applying for any government funding if they can cancel you just for being a pacifist. Supporting @1KarenWyld
Terrible reporting by @abcnews. Should read "A woman sailing a yacht in the Mediterranean was frightened by a huge orca which swam alongside and gently bumped her boat but it swam off without any damage to either party".
A woman sailing a yacht in the Mediterranean Sea filmed a frightening encounter with a huge orca, which attacked her vessel by repeatedly banging into it.

@mikerdot Drying than the proverbial dead dingo here. We are losing mature trees at a rapid rate and bucketing water as fast as we can. 🥺 Still have half a tank of house water tho. Onto short showers and limited flush!
@JackDAshby@topechidna@ZoologyMuseum@CamUnivMuseums@CamZoology Fascinating discussion and a classic clash of functional vs structural definitions of anatomy. Shows how different disciplinary perspectives can often provide 'different' answers - which are not necessarily incompatible but operating at different levels.
Time to line the river and the shore with a wall of protest. This is a disgrace - a betrayal of democracy and clearly a sign of the fearful over-reaction by mining giants who know they must stop burning our future for their own profits - and the weak govts who do their bidding.
The New South Wales government has imposed an exclusion zone around Newcastle harbour, making it off limits to the public for four days in what climate protesters say is an unprecedented move from politicians “trying to bully and intimidate"
