Contractors have been working to remove fallen trees around Southend and Essex this morning, following strong winds overnight.

This tree was found fallen on Elmsleigh Drive in Leigh-on-Sea, completely blocking the road.

Today I'm once again at the Cadet Operational First Aid course. It's the final day and this afternoon the cadets will be assessed on what they have learnt. I have every confidence they will all pass. I look forward to working with them all on duties soon.
