@honestpollster@MostlyPeaceful So you're a progressive who thinks our ancestors didn't know what they were doing regarding violent crime and executions. You think they were barbarous and gross. Ok. I think your progressivism is weakness and has led to terrible outcomes wrt violent crime the past 100 years.
@honestpollster@megbasham Cruelty to murderers is because life is so valued. Kindness to murderers suggests life is not valued. I know you can get this. I believe in you.
@MattWalshBlog โEnjoy it!โ they say. Which seems fair. And you start to think about the future without them around so much. Enjoy it while it lasts.
I call for public capital punishment of all violent criminals, i.e. any crime done by threat of a deadly weapon. Live by the sword, die by the sword. Justice is not for the squeamish.
Whatโs actually dehumanizing is violent crime, not the punishment of it.
We have not had a public execution since 1936.
Now is not the time to restart this dehumanizing practice.
Conservatives who are foolishly defending this: how will you feel when the Left holds federal power again?
Remember: Terrorists aspire to martyrdom โ he will be another martyr for them.
Repent and stop the bloodlust.
I saw Charlie Kirk murdered on camera
I saw Iryna Zarutska murdered on camera
Televised deaths are not new
The only difference is that this time the person dying actually deserves it
@ggreenwald@a_newsman These are all undebatable points. But public executions have a long history and modern criminal justice has proven that empathy toward criminals is largely a bad idea. You know what else the US shares with the brutal nations? So many people in prison.
Most everything the government does should be public. It's OUR government, after all. They're doing all this in OUR name. I can't agree that violence necessarily begets violence. I don't think the Bible teaches that as a precept. We must drive the evil from our midst. It's okay to celebrate victory over evil. Rev. 19:1-2.
