A huge mushroom cloud was visible in Cape Canaveral, Florida, after a Blue Origin rocket exploded during a test on Thursday, May 28.
Footage by John Thomas Concilus shows the explosion lighting up the night sky.
Concilus said the video was captured by a camera mounted on his condo balcony and used to monitor launches and space-related marine traffic.
Blue Origin said the rocket experienced an “anomaly” during a test.
“All personnel have been accounted for. We will provide updates as we learn more,” the company said.
Owner Jeff Bezos said it was “too early to know the root cause,” but an investigation was underway to find out.

“There is substantial doubt about our ability to continue as a going concern”
"I’ve seen kebab trucks that have better economics than this company.”
There are so many insane wildly misleading stories coming out about data centers almost every day now that I'm mostly having to give up on commenting on them to focus on actually getting blog posts out, but it feels like a tsunami. I'll share one from just today as an example.

At least two of the US citizens have been held in Evin Prison, a notorious facility in Tehran that often houses political prisoners, and family members are concerned for their safety amid airstrikes and broader chaos in Iran.

@BankofAmerica Do you want my business? I've been trying to ask a basic question about my credit card APR and your phone tree keeps pinging me around, not understanding me, and won't put me on the line with a human.

@IncCombustion guys your display that I spent a ton of money on keeps shutting off when I have a timer or thermometer running. It’s not reliable and therefore not usable. Someone named Heiz responded to my email a few days ago but I’ve heard nothing since. Please advise.
Rewatched season 1 this weekend for obvious reasons, and Charlie Lang is easily my favorite character. No one better captures the show's vision of being locked in your miserable life for eternity. "I don't think you should've showed him those pictures. Do you?" DOOR SLAMS SHUT.
Shout out:
The DPW guys who spend the sub-zero morning riding around the neighborhoods picking up our trash.
The Washington Gas guys who showed up within hours of a reported gas leak on my block and spent the whole freezing night digging up the street to patch it up.
Fellow Washingtonians, while this has been a rough week, we shall still chronicle what is happening in our neighborhoods. There are good people to praise, sidewalks of shame, hawks and and white whales. Restaurants are opening. And closing. Metro is rolling. Pipes are breaking. Join us to be in the know.
I love The Washington Post, not just b/c it is my hometown paper or that my dad learned English by reading it or that it sparked my love of the news. I love it b/c everyday it produces exceptional journalism. I hope its leadership will reconsider these cuts. #SavethePost
