He is the GOAT. He has nothing to prove anymore. How far they go depends on his performance. He deserves the respect he gets. Rightly, they all look up to him and have accepted without him, they go nowhere. He is their leader.
He is like that guy in all tech firms that comes to work like once bi-weekly or monthly but earns more than everybody. But when he comes, he fixes everyone's problem because he wrote the code.
This is what CR7 should be. He should just be happy to be at the World Cup, centre everything around the younger players. You are 41 and only one person in the history of football ranks above you. You have nothing to prove to anybody. Every member of the team grew up idolizing you. You can even decide to be the assistant coach, cheerleading the team and be coming in the last 30 mins. His desperation, drive snd ambition is his strength and what has brought him this far. It is also the reason, he is easy to hate. Lead them like your kids, not people you have to outperform. They will never catch up, so what are you still proving?
Nothing sweet me pass sey France go first play, then Norway go play, before Argentina go come play
Then when we don evaluate their performance finish, we go use their result grade Portugal later that day😂😂😭😭
Messi ma wicked person walai 😂😂😭
That hat trick wey he score really cause problem for Ronaldo camp 😭😭😭
Be like say dem launch nuclear bomb for their wasiu camp
Let me do a little football argument today, Mr Bayo:
You are free to love Ronaldo, but you cannot make an argument that he is greater than Messi.
What metrics do you want to measure with? Messi beats Ronaldo across the board.
But let’s flip their records. Would Messi still be greater than Cristiano Ronaldo if:
Messi had 35 trophies, while Ronaldo had 46, the highest in the world?
Messi had five Ballon d’Ors, while Ronaldo had eight?
Messi had 8 domestic titles, while Ronaldo had 13+?
Messi had just the Euros and two Nations Leagues, while Ronaldo had a World Cup, two Copas, one Olympic medal, and one Finalissima?
Messi had 2 FIFA The Best awards, while Ronaldo had 3?
Messi had 4 Golden Shoes, while Ronaldo had 6?
Messi had 0 World Cup Golden Balls, while Ronaldo had 2?
Messi had 0 World Cup Golden Boots, while Ronaldo had 1?
Messi had 960+ goals, while Ronaldo had 900+, but also the most assists, dribbles, and chances created, while playing two fewer years than him?
Messi had 5 Champions League titles, while Ronaldo had 4?
Messi had 0 Laureus Sports Awards, while Ronaldo had 1, the only footballer to win it?
I could go on and on. But even in that scenario, Ronaldo fans would still not concede that Messi is better.
But that is the reality we have here.
The whole of football knows Messi is both better and greater.
Ronaldo’s teammates attest to this. Messi’s teammates attest to this.
Top coaches in the world attest to it:
Pep Guardiola
Jürgen Klopp
Arsène Wenger
José Mourinho
Etc.
Legends of football attest to it, and their careers attest to it.
Messi is 39, and he is still playing with the highest creative and playmaking responsibility on the pitch.
Ronaldo shifted from the wings to the box as early as 2015–2018.
Now they are both at the twilight of their careers, and we see one still actively dictating play, while the other has become a shadow of his former self.
Messi is better and greater than Ronaldo in all regards.

A few records more in the history books 😅
There is something called ripple effect.
Had Messi been sent off for that foul, it would have greatly impacted on the game. Maybe Argentina goes on to win 1 -0. Maybe Algeria males a 2 - 1 comeback. Maybe another player gets to win the MOTM. It entirely means that Algeria was robbed. It also means that Austria who ordinarily wouldn't be facing Messi on Monday who should be facing a ban, would be tasked with playing against the greatest player ever, further reducing their chances of a win.
By failing to send him off, Messi went ahead to score two more goals. Why not? He is the GOAT. He has bagged the MOTM. He has broken the World Cup goal record. He is already in line for another Player of the Tournament.
Ripple Effect. It is not just football, it is life.
I cannot lie, and this is my personal conviction, if somebody mentions a player as their best ever and it’s not Messi, i just know i cannot discuss football matters with you at all. No need
