I cannot stress how damaging it is to mental health to stay at home.
Do something, anything, but get out of the houses.
Weekends in particular are for doing stuff, going places.
Staying home tires you out and makes you anxious.
Climb a mountain or jump in a lake, anything.
The 3 reasons why AI won't reduce clinician jobs:
—Jevon's paradox (more efficiency, more use)
—"Lump of labor" fallacy (the type of work changes)
—Tasks ≠ Skills

as someone who’s moved cities more than ten times, maintaining friendships across distance has become something of a lifelong preoccupation. one thing i’ve learned is friendship can be kept alive through very small bids for connection or little glimpses into ordinary life that preserve shared context
i once wrote about some of my favourite small friendship bids here :)

💡 JAMA Insights: #PhysicalActivity is an effective component of care for people with #chronic#medical conditions, and #clinician#communication can help support behavior change.
This JAMA Insights article indicates that supportive conversations should acknowledge common barriers, frame activity as achievable daily movement rather than only structured exercise, and emphasize that any increase in activity can benefit health.

This week, Forte Biosciences were acquired by Argenx for $2.2 B.
Forte have a first-in-class antibody that blocks CD122, a subunit shared by IL2 and IL15 - so it inhibits T cells and NK cells (but spares T-regs).
Tested in trials for vitiligo, it can re-pigment the skin:
Sometimes, an attending is doing a case, but is struggling and kind of lost, but the assisting resident sees clearly what to do next.
The resident then feels that they have to invent all kinds of careful diplomatic language to guide the attending. It’s fascinating to watch.
