And if you ever need a reason to praise the Lord it should be that God is God and besides him there is no other. Praise the Lord.
Prayer: O Lord, i praise you today because you are God and besides you there is no other.
Bible in a year: 1 Corinthians 5 - 8
Topic: Praise the Lord
Text: Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.
Psalms 150:6
Dear believer, the call for everything that has breath to praise the Lord is one that shouldn't be ignored.
The implication is that although stones are lifeless objects, God is able to infuse breath into them just for the purpose of praising him. This therefore means that you who has breath should praise the Lord and not cease to do so.
We must therefore make up our minds to serve God not because of what we want to gain but because of who he is and what he represents.
Prayer: O Lord, help us to be devoted in our service to you.
Bible in a year: 1 Corinthians 1 - 4
Topic: Be devoted to God
Text: No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.
Matthew 6:24
The moment our service to God becomes condition based, it will result in us quitting in our devotion to him once we get what we want or we'd start grumbling if our expectations are not met leading to claims that God isn't real or is partial.
Envy shouldn't have a place in the church or in the midst of believers because it isn't a fruit of the Spirit. Having known these, it is now left for us to do away with conceit, unnecessary provocations and envy so we can focus our energy into advancing the course of the gospel.
