@jonswales77 This one is a very good Q. I do believe the world is getting more violent. Most Christian leaders in history also thought that. Their best response imho was emphasizing the pilgrim nature of lives and ultimate heavenly citizenship. Ready to embrace death like ignotus peverell…
@MarkPowley1@jonswales77 I don’t know why Babylon is condemned and of course my faith leads to reviewing & reshaping whatever is *mine*. Trying to claim that society’s systems belong to me is absurd. Claiming they belong to my church is historically dangerous. #strength#serenity#wisdom
@marcushoneysett I was trained in Christian leadership by uccf (Bristol) and now pastor an independent church in Auckland. Face this issue almost every week. The nuance between 'building' and 'uncovering' unity in the faith helps. One is Jesus work & one is mine.
@mbird12 Much like its origins then? the church has been bigger in Asia than Europe for the larger part of the last 2k years. Certainly charismatic/mystical in every age. Just not written about. Even Aquinas stopped writing when he became charismatic! See R.Stark on %women in early church
@krishk Yes it appears that way but kate was done for lying to a judge about it, and Dianne was drinking on public transport, flouting the law in public while in public office. There may be racism involved but there's a shed load more stupidity!
What’s wrong with playing three openers in the top three? I can’t help imagine this England team would be stronger with Jennings at 3 and one less pace bowler (lose Overton or Broad) #bbccricket#GorgeousDay
@bbctms Following from a wet Eden Park - I play 2-day games in an Auckland league which is probably further away from Blighty than Fiji - moved here in Oct & still love tms!
