The Joseph Rowntree Foundation @jrf_uk poverty report out today makes grim reading, millions'd need to DOUBLE incomes to escape poverty & over 14m in the UK fit its poverty defintion:- https://t.co/FdSpphNZr7

It asked me in advance for a comment in its press release, I added

"I warned at the start of the energy crisis that I was out of tools to help many on the lowest incomes.

"Now we have hit the stark reality that 100,000s of people in the UK, even after they've had professional help from money charities, are still deficit budgeting – so their income is less than their minimum necessary expenditure. Definitions of poverty are tricky, especially when based on relative incomes, but that smells like a clear indication the problem is getting worse.

"And let's be plain, once people are in the deepest mire, it's not a Money Saving Expert you need, it's policymakers and regulators to sit up take note and address these deep-rooted problems – which is exactly what I hope they do with this Joseph Rowntree Foundation report highlighting the situation and calling for change."

When the elegant actress was asked:

Why don't you have any plastic surgery?

She answered:

“I will never allow them to remove the wrinkles in my forehead, because they are the result of my amazement at the beauty of life…

…or those on my mouth, because it shows how much I laughed and how much I kissed…

…not even the black spots under my eyes, because behind it I hide the memories of my sadness and cry…

…They are part of me and I love their beauty...

I will preserve my facial features because they're an indicator of my life experiences."

I can't because it's not true - certainly not universally. For many Uni is the best option, and will both boost their earning power, and give unique exposures to outlooks & opportunities.

What I have written though, many times, is with the increased payback, it is more important than ever for people to assess if Uni is specifically right for them, and look at alternatives. Doing it by default as you've no other ideas is certainly a bad way to do it.

Of the many incredible guests he interviewed over the years, he said boxer Muhammad Ali was his favourite.

Every single one of you fighting to keep males in female sport i will be naming you when all this unfair shit stops and we again respect the rights of female to have fair and safe sport just like their male peers still get. There is a very obvious reason mens sport is not over run with trans men. And if it was, you can be dam sure it would be stopped immediatly by men before it effected them. Biology matters.

Protest is fundamental to democracy.

People must have the right to oppose having an unelected head of state, or more than £100m of public funds being spent on a coronation when millions rely on food banks.

These arrests should concern us all.

Good luck to the girls! Bring the trophy home!
