President Biden is taking action to reduce air pollution and carbon emissions from power plants. But powerful special interests like Edison Electric are already ramping up to tank this effort.
We work for the people, not wealthy corporations. Let's get this done.
You know what it’s safe to say that we don’t “dig”?
Utilities—aka our power companies—pretending to be clean energy leaders, while their lobbyists at @Edison_Electric try to kill EPA’s carbon standards for power plants.
That’s dirty! #UtilityMomentOfTruth
TWEEPS: The pressure is working!
Thanks in part to YOUR tweets to hold utilities accountable for trying to kill President Biden's plan to curb some power plants’ pollution by 90%, a MAJOR utility, @ConstellationEG, has joined us in support.
Tomorrow is the cutoff.
Let's keep those tweets going!
Holy shit. Days ago, we called out utility companies trying to block Biden’s plan to limit some power plants’ pollution by up to 90%. IT IS ACTUALLY WORKING. Do not let these utilities put their profits over our planet.
Our utilities should be prioritizing people, public health, and affordable renewable power—not their ability to pollute for profit. Utilities with clean power commitments shouldn’t undercut their own targets by supporting attacks on the EPA’s strong power plant standards.
When we heard a big utility trade group was about to trash @EPAMichaelRegan’s carbon standards for power plants, @EvergreenAction jumped into action. Thanks to the 29 groups who joined us in calling on @Edison_Electric members to reject this fossil-fueled, myopic stance from EEI:
