The first time I fought an iteration of a bathroom bill in Texas was 2015. Meaning it’s been 10 years of this hateful garbage. If you imagine all the hours #txlege has wasted on this concept alone… it really makes you wonder what we could have accomplished for people.
Today DHS Secretary Kristi Noem signed a waiver paving way for installing 17 miles of buoys in Rio Grande near Brownsville. Noem cited “high levels of illegal entry” to justify the move. There’s just 1 problem—her assertion is untrue.

New from @danimarr94: "As we celebrate Pride Month, I am struck by the contrast of what I know to be true about this region and what the popular narratives may be—the Valley boasts an abundance of creative, powerful, and joyful communities." https://t.co/A1DAG0QExt

Some professional news: Today was my last at @monitornews. It’s bittersweet saying goodbye to my hometown newspaper but I’m looking fwd to new opportunities, which I’ll announce soon.
Thank you #RGV community for trusting me to tell your stories. PS: the cat shirt will live on!
I had the privilege of documenting the seven-day, 65-mile pilgrimage through the historical sites associated with the Rio Grande Valley's role in the Underground Railroad to Mexico. This is my account of “Walking the Southern Road to Freedom” #RGV https://t.co/bU6tQroJu8

Today, the Brownsville community yelled: ¡Fuera SpaceX, LNG, ICE! during the @CharroDays Parade downtown. @BTxRGV must kick these polluting corporations, SpaceX & LNG, out of our community event!
