We each wrote a poem based on George Lyon’s poem “Where I’m From” and then picked our favourite line to make a whole-class poem. This is where we are from!

When monolingual students learn to read, they encounter phonics instruction with words they are likely familiar with. The same is not necessarily true for young multilingual learners. Specialized #multilingualsupport is necessary with vocabulary through authentic instruction.
