My friend got mugged in London last night by a gang. First question: “Are you a boy or girl?” He’s not trans. He’s a gay guy, with shoulder length hair. Not cut in a feminine style - just shoulder length hair. Punched and kicked to ground. Beaten. Terrified. Didn’t fight back in case they had a knife. Took his phone, laptop and watch. This is the street level of the world the Gender Critical movement, JK Rowling, the BBC, the Daily Mail and all the others who have demonised and reduced trans people specifically and the the LGBT+ community more broadly over the last few years have created. Of course, they’ll say it’s got nothing to do with them. But it freaking does . All of those I’ve mentioned, along with Labour, The Cons and Reform, are dragging the world back to times of queer bashing, conformity and fear. 🌈🏳️‍⚧️
