McCartney restera jusqu'à 3h du matin pour mettre en boîte l'une des perles du White Album. Il jouera de tous les instruments, seuls les cuivres seront enregistrés plus tard par George Martin.
A plus d'un titre, le White Album sera d'une certaine façon le point de départ de leur carrière solo. Au-delà des premières tensions, chacun d'entre eux initiera des chansons que l'on retrouvera plus tard sur leurs propres albums, Jealous Guy pour John ou Not Guilty pour George par exemple.
