@daguilarcanabal @weel@ialexryan But I don’t see any issue with affinity groups within YIMBY. The DSA YIMBYs understandably feel discomfort supporting private capital building market rate housing. I’m not a DSA member, but if it helps to have a space where they can get together to wrestle with that, why not?
For people who complained that #SB827 didn’t upzone rich neighborhoods enough relative to cities, it was the Silicon Valley Senator, presiding over low-density swaths of land w lots of jobs, who effectively killed it. https://t.co/ABVbs7rbXg
Tomorrow is the first committee hearing on #SB827, and it's going to be wild.
Which means TODAY is the LAST DAY to call Committee members to support the biggest bill in California housing policy in decades.

This is such an extraordinarily promising new program: nonprofit, donor-backed @report4america, modeled on AmeriCorps, to deploy reporters at papers in under-covered areas. https://t.co/YL2IMjqB8Y
“The escalation and response we saw in Sacramento is more akin to the kind of immediate escalation and engagement you’d find in a war zone when chasing a suspected terrorist.” My thoughts: https://t.co/mMv0UwZJRC
Paul McCartney, who is marching in NYC, tells CNN: "One of my best friends was killed in gun violence right around here, so it's important to me.." It's been 37 years since John Lennon was gunned down outside of his apartment in Manhattan.
@gregmorrow Fruitvale is already zoned for SB 827 heights. Don't see development taking place except affordable. SB 827 is only way to upzone rich areas near transit like Rockridge, Berkeley, etc.
Especially on social media, it's good to elevate voices that you might disagree with but find compelling. This does a very good job of being fair.
Thanks @drschweitzer for elevating the discourse! https://t.co/mX00oWuz6z
@uhshanti@coreysmith_17 I’m a YIMBY and you are my favorite YIMBY critic. What are a few books that you think are most persuasive to get us to see things your way?
