I will never forget the day Sir Garfield was in my office @EssexCricket - a true legend and an ever nicer man - he took time to speak to staff, members and others on his visit.

To this day I have a signed ball in my office.

Paul was one of life’s truly great people, an exceptional and committed journalist, and above all a real family man. His passion and dedication for both clubs was inspiring.
My thoughts are with his lovely family at this difficult time.
