Boston #Comics Roundtable pointer of the day: Hub Comics hosts a presentation and signing of WILL EISNER: A COMICS BIOGRAPHY by co-creators Stephen Weiner and Dan Mazur (our co-founder) on Wednesday, September 3, 7pm – https://t.co/Rcj85u4TEk
Come see @DanMazurComics & Stephen Weiner on their summer tour to promote WILL EISNER: A Comics Biography! They’ll be signing, reading, presenting, and discussing the book. Free riso zine about Fritz Lang’s influence on Eisner while supplies last. #willeisner#fritzlang#booktour
WILL EISNER: A COMICS BIOGRAPHY: Developing the character designs: Will as a young man. Most of the photos of Will in his 20s & 30s show him at work, which is okay, since we show him at work a lot, too. But definitely needed the non-work pictures as well. Coming soon from @NBMPUB
"Will Eisner: a Comics Biography." An early study, based on this photo of Eisner, adding his mom in the BG to make it a bit of a "moment." It didn't end up in the book, but here's a similar scene, Will working on his first pro assignment. Coming soon from @NBMPUB. #comics
At #alaac25? Come see Steve Weiner & me at one of our signings. First one this evening at 6-6:30. Get a sketch on the FCBD preview edition. I'll have copies of the brand new riso-printed Eisner/Lang minicomic, too!
WILL EISNER: A COMICS BIOGRAPHY character design. Even fewer photos of Will's father Sam than of his mom, so I mostly had to invent. A page of pencil studies of the parents, plus one of Sam and Will drawing in the park -- which is in the book, coming soon from @nbmgraphicnovels
WILL EISNER: A COMICS BIOGRAPHY character design. Will's mother, Fanny: on a boat, age 25, and later as a young mom. I did a straight study from the earlier one. The rooftop drawing is a concept study, for a scene that didnt end up in book, coming from @nbmgraphicnovels #comics
Along with #willeisner, we at NBM respect your intelligence. That's why we KNOW you'll preorder Stephen Weiner &

#BW_FCBD The awards named after him are a mess, but this snipet of Will Eisner's quest to become a comic creator was fascinating. I want to read this biography comic when it comes out. 👍
This Saturday, Free Comic Book Day I'll be at @myp_comics in Harvard Square from 12-2, drawing Eisner & Iger for you if you pick up a copy of the fcbd preview of Will Eisner a Comics Biography, coming 7/25 from @NBMPUB
From 2005, "Lummox," my first long-form comic : it started as a one-page riff on Wolverton and Segar, and I just kept going. It was serialized in the Topanga Messenger, and then I printed it up in a series of 4 minis. Read it here: https://t.co/bGTFOUs8qq

The last shot of "Vendetta of a Samurai" (1952, d. Kazuo Mori) is an amazing piece of filmmaking and acting. I drew an homage to what Toshiro Mifune does in that closeup of 25 seconds or so.
Cover for Will Eisner: a Comics Biography by me & Steve Weiner, coming in July from @NBMPUB The first, deemed too noirish & dark, so re-colored & changed from Midnight to Dawn (or Dusk, if you prefer). I kind of like the change, what do you think?
