So very proud of this wonderful achievement and the excellent practice which happens each and everyday at Hope Cottage Nursery. We can all ‘make a difference’ by making small changes & nurturing our children’s wonder for the natural world 🌎
Congrats from Educ Convener @joan_griffiths for 2 shortlisted nominees in Scottish Education Awards 2023: Hope Cottage Nursery @nursery_hope re their sustainability projects + @GillespiesHigh for Gaelic – https://t.co/DxIOEZBLVM #edinwebcast@EducationScot
As much we love @FischyMusic we are keen to further develop our range of ‘Assembly Bangers’. Shakira’s Try Everything was new this week, reminding us that ‘Birds don’t just fly the fall down and get up’ https://t.co/DeJqLgeoqZ an important message in perseverance :)
Thank you to @ruthsmckay and @danny_hoyle for offering their insights to inspire our #IntoHeadship participants debate on the top 3 agenda items for educational reform in Scotland and the new cabinet secretary’s inbox!
Congratulations to the team @nursery_hope on this remarkable achievement! Very proud to work alongside such dedicated and nurturing professionals who continually strive to make a difference in the lives of children, their families & the local community. Thank you 💜#ScotEdAwards
Solidarity with all of my anti-lollipop comrades out there. The idea that our questions should be driven by chance rather than intention is extremely odd. If our Qs are so ineffective that they would be improved by randomisation, then the solution is to improve the questioning, not give in to our ineffectiveness.
@TomMC93@MrMcEnaney Is there a conflation of randomness with fairness? The other one I don’t get is raffle tickets and prizes for positive behaviour. Children don’t understand the probability well enough in primary school and i’m not sure raffles are the kind of fairness’ - not meritocratic.
@TomMC93@MrMcEnaney I think the randomiser fad came from FA research whereby grouping children at random produced better results that ability groups. Same idea applied to 20% of children answering 80% of questions. From this the novelty of randomisers for pairs and lolly sticks for answering qs.
@TheCricketGeek If team value a win to be way ahead of a draw & a draw only marginally better than a loss then approach is valid. Have the team have made their own ‘scoreboard’ is lose = 0 pts, draw = 1 point, win = 5pts. Defining own success so less bothered by tradition and individual stats.
