Tweet 1/3:
I used to dread tracebacks. Now? I realize silent failures are a developer’s true nightmare.
Introducing MediReminder API: a production-ready, async-first backend. 🧵👇
I think I now understand why @AjeboDanny heavily criticizes pastors in Nigeria. It takes a special kind of ignorance and deceit to defend the president given the current situation in the country.
When you watch this video, you'll see why many Nigerians, especially the older generation, don't take elections or the issue of insecurity seriously in this country. People have been so brainwashed by rubbish like this that you would genuinely think the whole arena is a comedy skit.
If your apron is as powerful as you claim, let's do a scientific experiment: put it on, let's test it against a real bullet, and see if you will actually be protected.
We still face severe insecurity. Kidnappers are ravaging the country, but for some reason, the "God of Chosen" will exclusively protect you—as if the innocent people currently being kidnapped are just animals.
If we channeled this level of radical energy into demanding a good, enabling environment and a better quality of life, this country would have changed a long time ago.
This always gets me:
“The most valuable of all education is the ability to make yourself do the thing you have to do, when it has to be done, whether you like it or not.”
- Aldous Huxley
I saw this video where this babe from America was telling the cashier how liquid she was, and what she was showing the cashier was about 8k.
The reason why 1 billion seems small is because of the numbers you hear on the news that politicians or government service workers embezzle.
If you had 1 billion dollars, it would be a God-tier amount, like you had transcended being human at that point; you would become an institution.
I'm genuinely curious, what database are you using? Do you have a public repo I could take a look at? Usually, a standard database shouldn't throttle at just 100 concurrent users for basic reads and writes, so my guess is there might be a bottleneck somewhere—like a missing index, a connection leak, or a hardware limit.
Also, since you mentioned you aren't using an ORM, are you writing raw SQL, or are you using a NoSQL database?
@being__47@akinkunmi You know this.
There’s like a million things that can go wrong , but because these people uses ORM and other abstracted things that have been optimized for them.
He said you don’t even need to optimize 😂
The literal #1 most suicidal belief you can have is that you’re an introvert/socially anxious/don’t like people.
I was this guy until around 22. Thought I was better than everyone else and actively chose not to be social.
Life completely changed when I started interacting with random people and just trying to make them laugh. Opportunities opened up, made relationships with people I never thought possible. Everything was just less dull and boring. Every day was fun for no reason.
You cannot be a lone wolf. It’s a mental illness.
Life is meaningless without people.
Just learned a new word:
Eremition
(eh-ruh-mish-un)
The act of gradually fading from the lives of others, not out of malice, but a desire for solitude or renewal.
I’m convinced that everyone should take a big swing at some point in their life and experience what it’s like to truly go all in on a meaningful pursuit otherwise they grow bitter with age.
