And yet, all those algorithms begin with those biased assumptions, that the “haves” are better than the “have nots” and it creates an uneven playing field before a ball is snapped or a ptich is thrown

It does not ensure that you ARE good, nor does it ensure that programs that do not have those things are not as good as you are. 1/

@SECbaseball @PoopvanteAdamss @TroyTrojansBSB win the CWS because they’re from a non power-5 conference. How could they? They don’t have the money, the stadium, the large fan base, and the elite coaches… and they’d have to run a gauntlet of teams that do just to “earn” their spot at the table.

You assume money, stadiums, fans, and coaches automatically equal quality and success. It completely negates and opportunity for true parity in the sport. The conspiracy theory exists because it’s not that far of a stretch to think that a corp like ESPN will manipulate events to ensure the highest $ outcome

Which is why I wish the CFP stuck with the BCS computer algorithm and just added the playoff without the selection committee. That being said, multiple biased algorithms will still produce a biased result

But metrics like these begin with the belief that certain teams are just better than others before the season even begins. It’s inherently biased based on the options of a select few 2/
