Yeah good idea the Fed can manage it. They should fill it with only the safest assets, like Treasurys and agency-backed debt. They can call it the the Legacy Strategic Advancement Portfolio (LSAP) or maybe something cool like the Quantum Edge (QE) Fund. It'll be huge 🤣

@shaahin_a OPEC quotas keep total supply down, making Saudi Aramco the swing supplier at 10%+ of total. This allows them to set global price, benefitting all suppliers. Aramco sets official selling prices (OSPs), expressed as a spread above a benchmark price. Something like that.

There were big spikes in the fed funds rate perfectly spaced at the quarter boundaries for about 6 quarters from 1982 to 1984. What Fed policy caused this? Reserve maintenance period crunches come to mind, but I'd have thought those would be more frequent
