you can already see how big the next Night's buy boost is going to be, before it happens.
@sergitosergito says it's coming to the Nightshades site on the next update. for now it lives on the stonkbrokers launcher.
that boost is fed by the Sunrise tax, so a heavy Sunrise makes the next Night louder.
good primer.
the sunrise tax hits buys as well as sells, which catches people out. up to 99% at the open, decaying across the hour.
and half of what it collects funds the next night's boost.
Nightshades is a brand new onchain survivor game by Meebco (Meebits) and Stonkbrokers. There are 4 factions: Ghosts, Watchers, Knights, and Zombies which have both NFTs and tokens. Every 24 hours The Night strikes 2-3 factions at random and takes and sells their tokens to buy the tokens of the survivor. The game leverages Stonkbroker infrastructure like AnvilAMM. What is great is that all the rules and gameplay are transparent and onchain, nobody has the ability to influence the Night, which leverages ChainlinkVRF. Really crazy project! Very excited for the future ๐

the deflation answer came back in the discord and it's a lot bigger than the part already running
@sergitosergito says the team minted out what was left of the collections, swapped those NFTs into tokens through anvil, and they're burning the lot. a percent a day, for a hundred days.
that lands around 40% of each faction's supply.
so the 4% gone so far from activation is the small part of this.
and here's the bit i like. knights gets slightly less than the other three, because knights is where people claimed the most NFTs. the faction everyone wanted leaves the least behind to burn.
over in the Nightshades discord @mynetworkguy_ asked whether there's any deflation in the tokens beyond staking.
yes, and it's already visible on-chain. activation burns tokens to the dead wallet and they never come back. almost 500M gone in two days, call it 4% of everything.
$KNGHT is burning fastest of the four.
the Sunrise tax works differently. that one recycles into the next Night's boost and back into liquidity.
the first thing to understand about @RareFriendsNFT
the token on its own pays you nothing. rewards go to NFTs, in proportion to reward weight, and a raw balance carries no weight.
so there are two ways in. a balance backs a temporary friend, which earns while you hold and stops when you don't. or you spend tokens to hardwire one, which mints a permanent NFT and switches its weight on for good.
whatever you spend doing that, half gets burned and half goes straight back out to everyone already active. the people playing fund the people playing.
and here's the strange bit. the rewards belong to the friend itself. each one owns a wallet. sell the NFT and the wallet goes with it.
so what you end up holding is a small creature with a bank account, quietly collecting while you do nothing.
@mynetworkguy_ one thing to be clear on: that Sunrise tax lands on buys as well as sells. up to 99% at the open, decaying to nothing across the hour.
checked it against Night 2. a buy 30 minutes in paid roughly double the pool price, and almost nobody bought inside that window at all.
everyone watches the same clock
the sunrise tax fades on a public timer, so the whole board can see exactly when selling gets cheap again.
across three of these now, a third to a half of all the volume has gone out in the final fifteen minutes, every time at a worse price than the people who left early.
which is the fascinating part. the countdown is public, so everyone reads it the same way, arrives at the same moment, and sells into each other.
the price behaved nothing alike across those nights. one faction gapped hard in the first minute and then steadied. another slid for a quarter of an hour straight.
the bunching didn't change at all.
people coordinate on the clock. and the clock is the one thing in the whole system that tells you nothing about what anything is worth.
$KNGHT $GHST $ZMBI $WATCH
@MeebitCompany@ClutchMarkets@sergitosergito@MeebitsNFTs@OxSimpleFarmer
nobody's talking about this bit
after sunrise everyone piles into the token. the opensea side just sits there with the same asks for hours.
anvil swaps an nft for tokens at a fixed ratio though. 1,105,000 to pull a random one out, 895,000 back if you put one in. those numbers don't move.
so one leg reprices every block and the other one's asleep, with a constant bolted between them.
(both anvil figures read off all four markets just now, identical across every faction)
What is the strategy to play this game?
Bought $25 worth of each coin before the game started ($100 total) and now it is $40 total๐
Even though I have a knight there is a 99% tax to sell so how you do it guys?
@Gratefulape the 99% ticks down a point a minute, knight isn't locked ๐ after sunrise everyone plays the token, nobody plays opensea. anvil bridges them
@siw0bbyte@Gratefulape fairly confident, given pedigrees, the teams are going to tune things after a few weeks. they are seeing what WE do for now. then the next phase of builds might start up.
activated is doing a lot of work on robinhood chain this week.
here it's a treasury activating a genesis and routing the proceeds back to the community.
over in nightshades it's what decides whether you earn anything when the Night lands.
good week for the word.
Treasury has purchased 120K Rare Friends tokens and successfully activated Genesis #349 @RareFriendsNFT.
All proceeds from this NFT will be redistributed to the community. More about this soon๐
