Untreated ADHD can ruin lives. Especially in adults.
And a LOT of adult ADHD goes untreated, because a LOT of people in our culture have been convinced it doesn't exist.
The daughter who was told she was the "easy" child who puts everyone before herself. She walks around dissociated & anxious, daydreaming of a fantasy life. But you'd never know because she's a master at looking like she has it all together.
my view of homeless people changed forever when i learned that more than half of them were foster kids who aged out of the system and were left with no family or resources.
When you choose to heal, don’t get caught up on who will be there with you on the other side of the process. The healthiest & most healed version of you will be there. That’s who you’ve needed most. That’s who you’ve been looking for this whole time. What a reunion. What a gift.
Adults too
Remember when you are angry, annoyed, hungry, stressed, otherwise triggered, etc, your prefrontal cortex is turned off
Once that happens, you aren’t receiving any new info, you get black/white thinking, reasoning is harder, etc
Might as well circle back later
Hypervigilance and "fawn" responses become our baseline when we grew up never knowing which "version" of our parents we'd get day to day-- or night to night.

A narcissistic abuser will use their ‘mental health’ against you.
Wait. What?
Early on, they fake vulnerability by sharing partial truths, like having childhood trauma, anxiety or issues with emotional regulation. When they start acting like an ass and flying into rages, they’ll say “I told you about blah blah blah when you met me.”
A narc fakes vulnerability to gain trust. The share feels real but it’s actually a ploy to tug at your heart strings. They know if you feel pity for them, you’ll make excuses for the abuse and stay.
Manipulation from day one…
Why are things expensive?
4 companies control 55% to 85% of the meat market.
4 airlines control 80% of air travel.
3 companies control 92% of the soda market.
3 companies control 73% of the cereal market.
Why don't I hear about it?
6 companies control 90% of the news.
the challenges with setting boundaries as an autistic person is that i won’t know boundary needed to be set until days, weeks, months had passed and i fully processed the situation. and by then it’d be too late to set boundary. hence my directness at random points.
