The national debt (so-called) is a savings facility. It exists because the US government permits holders of US$ to “park” a prescribed fraction of US currency in an interest-bearing savings account (aka Treasuries). Can we have a grown-up convo at some point?

"our tax dollars are being sent to israel." it's actually much worse than that. the gov issues debt to give directly to private weapon manufacturers (so they can make a profit), pay interest on that debt to bondholders (rich ppl), & then cut social programs to service the debt.
