When I was a 9 year old boy my dad signed me & my brothers up as foundation members of the @freodockers back in the summer of 1994.
I remember bursting out in tears when he told me as I went for west coast who’d just come off the back of the 94 flag. I was at an age where you still did as your parents told you so I put on a brave face & rolled up to my tiny wheatbelt primary school the next day-which was eagles heartland & told everyone I now go for freo-It was brutal.
My dad supported Claremont in the WAFL & loved going for the underdog was his reasoning.
Unfortunately he passed away in 1996 but my mum still took me & my brother to the footy every week as a way of remembering our dad. Those first 10 years were brutal, getting belted every week, but we kept turning up.
I’m now 40, a father myself & to say thanks to my mum for everything I’m taking her to the grand final 😊
Dare to dream! #foreverfreo 💜
@HLTCO Parallels to how most Spurs fans were feeling last couple of seasons. This years joy to watch isn’t because we are near the top end it’s because the football makes you want to watch it and come back for more.
One of the spurs accounts I follow put up a post recently about a book that they felt aligned with Ange’s philosophy etc. I can’t find that post now!!Any help tracking it would be appreciated. Coys
@KanKeano_THFC Thanks, reallly annoyed I didn’t save the list as the book looked interesting. It wasn’t football related but the reader felt the philosophy matched how Ange is with the press etc
@MrCracknell Isn’t it great Richard? First time in ages we are playing relentless dynamic football. Nearly 60 minutes of football and not looked at the phone
