Exciting weekend at NAIC! Jesse finished Top 128, and Cal made Top 8!! Thanks to coaches @BenryBrand and @Ciaran_TCG for their support and to our sponsor @MistyMountainWI
@PracticalTAS So in most US tournaments in 2026 seniors were safe to ID at X-2 as they were almost always at the low end of the 257 bracket, but it’s a bit more variable for juniors since there is such a big difference between 192 and 256!
@PracticalTAS Also - our experience this season is that asym cut is X-2-1 at almost every tournament. I’d be surprised if X-1-2 missed cut once this season for juniors tournaments in the neighborhood of 200 players.
@PracticalTAS Thanks Andrew! Are you taking the tie rate into account, as this doesn’t seems right. We use the Limitless Swiss calculator at every tournament and it is usually pretty accurate, and it looks like cut for juniors at Turin will be X-2-1.
@PracticalTAS The tournament size / number of rounds does make a big difference. Lately it seems like X-2-1 makes cut for both the lower divisions at almost every tournament, but would be curious to know what the likelihood is!
Both boys finished 13th in Indianapolis! A bit frustrating for Cal who has been T16 five times since his last T8, but a welcome result for Jesse replacing a T64. Got to spend time with family, including a pack battle with cousin Erik! @BenryBrand@ciaran_tcg@MistyMountainWI
@LynnOono Very cool that he and Ethan are able to participate! Also I’m guessing this is the last opportunity for foreigners to compete in Japanese events before the new rule goes into effect requiring ID..? Good luck to them both!!
Looking forward to making some music tonight! We finally solved the band name problem, thanks to one of our clever fans. We are now Canyon Arrow! Come join us for another free happy hour show at @TheHarmonyBar from 6:30-8:30pm! https://t.co/J8V8QT7ZLo
Fun weekend in LA seeing friends and playing some Pokemon! Jesse finished T64 and Cal finished T16 for the 4th time in 2026. Good luck to everyone still playing! Thanks @ciaran_tcg and @benrybrand for helping us navigate rotation! @MistyMountainWI
