Is giving your team an AI tool the same as making them “AI First”? Not even close.
Here’s the problem: You can buy everyone a license, but unless you build habits and culture, nothing changes. It’s like dropping off a treadmill and calling everyone fit. They’ll just resent you for the clutter.
So what actually matters? Three things:
1. Human skills first. AI is less about technical understanding, more about sharing, teaching, and supporting each other as we learn.
2. Practice over product. A fancy tool in every cubicle doesn’t make anyone an expert. You need time, encouragement, and a safe place to mess up.
3. Culture shift. Treat AI like any other big change. It's more about the outcome than the technology that gets you there.
If you want your team to use AI well, don’t just hand them the treadmill. Walk with them. Show them how. Ask what’s working.
What’s one way you have learned to build real AI-first habits?
