@biochem_fan After thinking about this again of course @yam_cpp has it right. Even without a pseudocentrosymmetric structure this would be hard (impossible?) unless the anomalous signal were very strong.
@biochem_fan Thank you!! I had not seen that before. There's a lot to think about. They used a fixed target and got 20x more patterns than we did. Very glad to see the 0.82 ร smSFX data supports (1) "direct methods" with heaviest atom Cl and (2) detecting H atoms.
@biochem_fan The MPCCD panel tilts were really small, I think around 100 um across the panel. The synthetic powder patterns are very very sensitive to the metrology. Iโm curious to try a new coplanar refinement, but I really think this only worked with panel tilts included.

@biochem_fan doesnโt work that great when there are only a few reflections on the frame. This might improve when we start collecting higher resolution data or else weโll need another way to handle โtwin lawsโ. We havenโt tried the Brehm-Diederichs procedure on small molecule data yet. (โฆ)
