Even if it is the same act of virtue, one is masculine and one is feminine not because of "wiring", "disposition", or "nature" but on the basis that a male expression of courage is masculine because a man does it. A female expression of courage is feminine because a woman does it
Dani hits it squarely here. Both men and women are to live virtuously and those virtues are not gender-specific. We express them in sexed ways. Masculine and feminine *expression* is because of our ontological being male and female. It will look different because we are different
Genuinely baffled by all those who read the statement “The Bible does not give us different virtue lists for men & women” and think it means “There are no observable or generalised differences whatsoever between the ways in which men and women live virtuously in relationship”.
Also, am I as a woman still allowed to use a gif of a man to emote confusion or is that too going to be interpreted as a declaration of androgyny?
A hateful person disguises himself with his speech and harbors deceit within. When he speaks graciously, don’t believe him, for there are seven detestable things in his heart. Though his hatred is concealed by deception, his evil will be revealed in the assembly Proverbs 26:24-26
"The human spirit is virtue in action. To live an intentional life is to be human. To drift into a reactionary existence is to live by instinct and Pavlovian response like an animal." - Adam Groza
He [the Lord] is not impressed by the strength of a horse;
He does not value the power of a warrior.
The Lord values those who fear him, those who put their hope in his faithful love. - Psalm 147:10-11
“I propose we create a task force to look into InGen and their founder John Hammond as they seek to develop a technology that will clone dinosaurs…” 😂 #saidwithloveandrespect
A wise warrior is better than a strong one, and a man of knowledge than one of strength; for you should wage war with sound guidance - victory comes with many counselors. - Proverbs 24:5-6
The simplest way forward in defining the unique “function” of the pastor is to tie it to NT terms like episkopos (Acts 20:28; Phil. 1:1; 1 Tim. 3:1–2) and episkopountes (1 Pet 5:2). Non-pastors may teach or give care, but only a pastor oversees the whole church—every member.
Bavinck has some fascinating thoughts on shame. He shows that he was a man ahead of his time. He saw that shame is personal, social, and physiological, even to saying that "Shame is the conscience of the body"
Scripture "makes us see everything in the full reality of life. It brings us persons, each of whom is worthy of studying in his own right and who together form a gallery that cannot be seen anywhere else.

In being honest, the Bible welcomes you to be honest as well. In its refusal to minimize, diminish, or deny the harsh realities of our spiritual address, the Bible calls us to face the facts as well. Things are not okay around us or inside us. The brokenness presses in on every side.
"So many of our deepest longings to succeed are really just ways to be for ourselves what Christ should be for us... But when we stop trying to steal self-acceptance from other sources, we lose our fear. We become fearless without becoming defiant."
- Tim Keller
"Sin always begins with the character assassination of God. We believe that God has put us in a world of delights but has determined that he will not give them to us if we obey him. This is the lie of the serpent, the original temptation to Adam and Eve"
- Tim Keller
"Christ was not a human hero whose motto is Excelsior, who overcomes every obstacle, and finally achieved the pinnacle of his fame. On the contrary He descended always lower and deeper and more intimately into our fellowship." -Herman Bavinck
