@PeterAPatriot@elonmusk@grok SpaceX has saved the government countless billions that otherwise would have been paid to wasteful cost plus contractors like ULA or literally Russia. Explain how we're not better off with SpaceX?
@micsolana I recall hearing somewhere (perhaps an old @LifespanRI presentation) that without natural causes we'd live to be about 300, which assumes the accidental and intentional causes remain static. Chief accidental cause is car accidents and much crime is economically motivated?
@nic_carter@ryan_t_lowe mathmatics either existed to serve some purpose by means of solving problems, or the problems themselves were the purpose. if the latter, i hope its the case we've been paying them like artists all this time because thats what they were.
@finguys@mtaibbi To be fair, most of those people died due to the incredible ignorance inherent in the philosophy rather than the incredible malice inherent in the philosophy.
@casewrites@jk_rowling Honestly f2m is both a larger problem and more horrific one. Psychos leveraging trans permissiveness to assault women or ruin the competitiveness of women's sport is awful but not broadly experienced. Social contagion among teen girls is a much more serious concern.
@coinbureau 4% annual deflation at full adoption would be no more disruptive than 4% annual inflation is now... except insofar as it helps everyone rather than harms them. Price stability is fine but the benefits of productivity growth should be shared broadly not stolen by govt and corps.
