@BillClog501@srodg2@thurisnospoon@TomBradyEgo Those late 80s Browns teams were really good. Much better than the Broncos and probably better than the Buffalo teams that followed as well. That's why the drive and the fumble are so memorable.
@srodg2@BillClog501@thurisnospoon@TomBradyEgo So you're looking at stats and didn't actually see the games, from the sound of your statement. The rules have changed significantly to assist offense since then, so the stats aren't comparable.
@srodg2@BillClog501@thurisnospoon@TomBradyEgo Elway brought teams with no business making the playoffs to Super Bowls in the 80s and early 90s. Mahomes is not taking a team like that anywhere, the team he joined made the afc title game with Alex Smith a qb.
@thurisnospoon@srodg2@TomBradyEgo It's a fair point, but 7 titles is no accident, he even played in a few more. When he retired he had played in 20% of all Super Bowls. There's no correct answer, they're all all-time greats, just a matter of preference/perception.
@BillClog501@thurisnospoon@srodg2@TomBradyEgo The only way you would say he's better than Elway or Staubach would be if you never saw them play. Mahomes better than Elway at this point is a wild take as well.
