My Final 2026 Draft Grades are here!
I couldn't decide on an all-inclusive metric that combines value added and efficiency, so here are both rankings instead. Read the small print to understand what the two mean.
The San Jose Sharks added the most talent to their prospect pool this year, and it wasn't even close.
Calgary and Toronto also did great. The Flames consistently picked up players I liked, and for the Leafs, it's hard not to finish high here when you select Gavin McKenna.
On the lower end, Tampa Bay, Montreal, and Ottawa added the least to their prospect pools. Montreal and Ottawa also finished near the bottom of the efficiency rankings, which means their poor classes were mostly self-inflicted, not a product of a small number of picks.
Columbus, Nashville, St. Louis, Seattle, and Los Angeles were some of my most efficient teams. They picked a lot of my favorites later in the draft, such as Jardine & Di Iorio for CBJ and Cullen, Bleyl, Graf for NSH.
This draft was a lot of fun, and I can't wait to see how these prospects continue to develop in the coming years.
@CofRedCentral But he signed for 6.25 million? I thought the speculation as to why the Flames didn’t offer sheet was because he wanted between 7-9 million. Interesting.
@CofRedCentral@MatchsticksCGY I get Bennet vibes from Pospisil… we need some of those sandpaper guys on our team. I bet they’d regret moving him if they do.
Event planners in Vernon are struggling. Some festivals and expos are now operating at a financial loss, if they haven't been cancelled altogether. The main reason? Rental fees.

@Jaredwasagoalie@Goleafsgo55361@spittinchiclets He changes the direction of the puck by kicking it. I do agree that it wasn’t going in but players bank pucks off goalies all the time. Hellebuyck doesn’t know it wasn’t going in. He’s trying to make a save. I get your logic, I just don’t agree.
@Goleafsgo55361@spittinchiclets Should be the same call if it deflects in off his blocker or pads. I’m no Winnipeg fan but I disagree with the call entirely.
