@georgetolisjr Completely agree. I love what I do, working with sick complex CT surgery patients. But when my daughter is sick, our pediatrician is the most important person. They should be compensated far more.
@mcuban@mcuban not the answer. My wife is from Brazil and I lived there for years. The insentive structure is that you specialize to increase your income. Even there, the only docs in primary care/doing “house calls” are from other countries or those that can barely pass their boards
@anish_koka@georgetolisjr This is a complicated question. And depends of surgeon and anesthesiologist skill. I good surgeon and a good block can create a great outcome.
@MazinFotehMD@goddek@infolibnews What a bunch of garbage. Giving an interview, wearing designer sunglasses while explaining why his war crimes are ok, but the other people are monsters for doing far less 🙄
@rbarbosa91@SurgeryBro It’s a weird time of year for me. I went unmatched and switched specialties. I never saw myself taking this career path, but am very happy where I’ve landed. But this week is always more sad than happy for me because I know what the unmatched are going through. And it’s not easy
@dieworkwear I’m watching “The Sting” for the first time and was immediately reminded of you’re fashion takes. Since the Oscars are coming soon. In your opinion what are the best movies with good men’s style?
6 year ago today, Dr. Li Wenliang passed away of COVID-19.
He warned the world about a virus outbreak in Wuhan. The government silenced him.
The rest is history.
@SeanLangenfeld I agree 💯 I’m not a surgeon. But as a fellow I did Q2 call often to cover emergencies that required my developing expertise. At the time I lamented it, now as a young attending I appreciate it. My attending anesthesiologists and surgeons taught me an immense amount those nights
Bears sensation “Cheese Grater Man” is Brandon Martinez, 38. He’s exactly who you want him to be:
🧀 From city’s Southwest Side
🔪 Grater undetected by security
🧀 Owns cheese wheel b/c kids like parm
🔪 Union man at chemical plant, worked OT to buy tix

@SeanLangenfeld@allisonoconn I don’t know anyone that would do a nueroaxial procedure with an INT of 1.8. Also every line I put in on patients with elevated INRs bleeds even without using the 11 blade
@MSharifpourMD I recently switched from academia to PP.
Pluses
- When the day is done my time is my own for the first time in years
-Everything is more equitable, there are no structures people are using to improve their life at a cost to others
-More respect and appreciation from colleagues
@northwoods1980 Crash during a GOP administration and subsequent recovery during democratic is how every generation of early retirees has done it since the 1990s
