Sadly for Hon. Muwanga Kivumbi, he is a Muganda, a Muslim, and a member of NUP. In Uganda today, each of these identities can invite hatred, brutality, and torture when one is abducted.
So imagine what happens to someone who combines all the three!
I am so proud of my partner,
@kizzabesigye1
. After months of unlawful detention, he stands in court with dignity, clarity and unwavering principle. He insists on his constitutional right to counsel of his own choosing. He even refuses to burden Ugandan taxpayers with paying for lawyers he does not seek, at a time when so many families are struggling to put food on the table. This is the courage and integrity I know. This is Kizza Besigye. Read his statement below.

@TheNabagereka@HEBobiwine@NUP_Ug What crime did he commit! Can you tell the court and the Judge sentenced him? Oba just ekitwe ekikalu kyekikubonyabonya nyokooo
Very, very saddened by the death of at least 20 little children in an accident that occurred last night in Kapchorwa, Eastern Uganda. They had gone for a tour organized by King David Junior School in Ndejje. One can not imagine how broken their parents are by this tragedy that also claimed the school owner's life. Rest peacefully, little angels. My deepest condolences to your families, classmates, teachers, and all schools across Uganda who share in the pain of this devastating loss! And a quick recovery to the survivors. May God strengthen everyone affected by this tragedy.
In February 2007, Andrew Mwenda @AndrewMwenda resigned from Monitor and KFM due to editorial interference with free journalism, including freedom to criticise Mr Museveni and his family. Here are some excerpts from his awesome resignation letter:
We have done nothing so far hon Kiiza! We're just following dictator's scripts "kidnap many, torture and imprison them when them cry release one they will appreciate your generosity!"
Col Besigye, mayor Lukwago, Edd and may others are innocently still imprisoned!!!
@NinyeTabz@NinyeTabz you should be asking how much the bribe was he given because it's publicly known that she has been using money, threatening or bajajja.
Whenever it rains, we all get wet.
Also, there are no survivors in a sinking boat!
That’s what happens when the rule of law is disregarded. Whenever we speak out condemning abductions, colleagues in NRM say it’s arrests and not abductions.
I hope the family and lawyers of the latest victim get to trace her, and that her rights as a suspect get to be respected…the same thing we’ve always demanded for Opposition leaders and supporters who are often abducted.
@JoelSsenyonyi You served well and you deserve another term as LOP. But you all Opposition mps lost it when you accepted to serve again under M7 well knowing that president and other NUP mps were chitted in the election! Where is the solidarity?
