He feels guilty for what happened.
He was right about the shields.
He was wrong about the dangers out there because he never considered other advanced beings would do them harm.
It's clearly there in the story.
He still feels guilt.

Personal interpretation of a work of fiction is cool.
But I think it's okay for me to comment when someone misrepresents my work.
I hope people can see the difference in those two very different cases.

During my run, in aggregate, sales for ASM went up.
By the Superior Spider-Man era, it was regularly Marvel's best selling super hero title.
It held that spot for most of the remainder of my run.
A run that included some of the most profitable single issues of the century.🙂

@Kaepernick7 A lot of the names and accounts who are asking you to please rethink this are professional comic book artists, people I've both worked with and admire.

A.I. takes their art and repurposes it without their permission or consent. It steals their hard work.

A title spinning out of the Civil War event, where the core leads were all-new characters introduced in the first issue. At the time, it was a Top 20 book for the American comic book industry.

And when I got in my time machine, another fan told me Marvel managed to do that with the Death of Gwen Stacy.

And so on.

It's AMAZING how many times Marvel has managed to do this.🤷

It's impossible to ruin/destroy a longstanding legacy character. If an iconic character's been around for 50+ years, they're indestructible.

Whatever current aspect/storyline displeases you as a fan can be hand-waved away down the road.

The character you ❤️ will be fine.
