@Ninosview9@lfcmike__ You don’t arrive at a market where valuations are inflated to €100m + without having inflated market valuations of €60m, €70m and €80m + first.
@UrbanCourtyard For us the walk to the ground from our homes/the station etc is a big part of our match day. Stadiums in residential areas are also a throwback to the days when the people who filled the stadium lived close enough to walk there (and also before cars became mainstream too obvs!)
PC Andrew Harper was dragged to his death at 42mph. His uniform was torn off and his injuries were so bad that first responders thought he was a deer carcass.
The men who killed him showed zero remorse they even laughed in court. They got just 13 years each for manslaughter.
Now, under Labour’s new early release scheme, two of them could walk free after only 6.5 years.
This is a total insult to PC Harper, his family, and every police officer. Killing a cop and showing no regret should mean real time behind bars — not a slap on the wrist because prisons are full.
How can any government release such evil monsters back onto this country’s streets especially after they have shown no remorse or empathy of their atrocious crimes.
Any government that is prepared to release such evil into society is itself an enemy of the people.
@GuillemBalague Not entirely sure if I have just watched the same game as you! England’s 10 scored twice, again. In a tense, high stakes game he was the difference. Eng not 2nd best either. Controlled the game well, esp when not in possession. Fully deserved the win.
@markgoldbridge Er, because they are a good side with very good players in essential positions. They are extremely well drilled, play to their strengths very well and have precious few weaknesses. England are in good shape here for me.
@LangmanVince Stupid statement no.7,593 today. USMNT aren’t involved this weekend because they were soundly beaten by a better team. Popularity of other sports irrelevant. The team was 2nd best on the day. Nothing else. It’s ok to lose sometimes. Excuses don’t change that.
@LouStagner Because you clearly didn’t do enough research on this already 😂 I would be interested to know what the gap would be without a certain Mr. Woods?
@Living4aLiving_ 🤣🤣 you should definitely exit that particular chat if that’s what they are saying! They clearly have no idea whatsoever about the game and almost certainly don’t even watch it. You’ll lose brain cells if you engage too much with them 😂
@__super_saiyan@sonofaswift Where to be a great you need that something extra. The things that are just there and can’t be coached? Or are all aspects of the game dominated by a skill set that, providing you are able to do it, the right coaching is all that is needed?
Every four years we take the best 11 athletes in every other country and put them up against the 4000th best athletes in America, and see if we can win. It's a crazy exercise.
@__super_saiyan@sonofaswift My knowledge of baseball is a fat zero, so excuse me if this is a stupid question! Is specific coordination a big part of the skill set? If a player has more/better coordination would he automatically be seen as one of the greats? Are there any positions 1/n
So many posts like this on here. ‘Our bum athletes play soccer’ ‘if we wanted to we would be the best ever’ blah blah blah. For a country that says it doesn’t care about football, they talk about it an awful lot.
The United States has won more Olympic gold medals than any other country in history, we are the best at sports in the world by far. We don’t even send our average players to compete in soccer but if we wanted to, we’d become the best in the world within five years and never lose a match after that.
@BowTiedCrow Each to their own. But it’s all shoulda woulda coulda. He may be very gifted in multiple sports. But it isn’t linear. Because he excels at one, doesn’t guarantee he excels at another. Regardless of practice time. Drills don’t make the greats great. 👍🏼
