Congratulations to my esteemed colleague @BSpurlOT_Acute_ 👏🏼
Just got his promotion to Senior OT within Acute Services. Enjoy your new responsibility and success! Throwback photo to PMA training in the good old days, see you soon! 🤝 🥇
Can we all agree on something?
If you're a politician getting paid over £84,000 plus expenses, for mainly office work...
You don't get to tell nurses on less than £30,000 that they're being paid enough for 12-hour shifts keeping people alive.

@KateBurkeNHS @HEWilliamsBooks@alisonleary1 I would argue that therapy / other AHP’s are “just as” (if not more transferable) than nursing to management/other non clinical roles.. Nurses are integral and MASSIVELY important but are sometimes very dismissive of the skillset of other professionals.
@KateBurkeNHS @alisonleary1 I think it is very dependent on the trust, I know of MANY nurses that go from band 5-6 after one year practice.
In other trusts I know that AHP’s have similar experiences.. i do not know about “automatic” progression though, always gone through appraisal/dev plan etc..
@annduckworth @Keirwales@HannahtheOT@LaughingOT @HollytheOT @MOHOspark I have not had this comment but I know it is really common amongst female OT’s, especially on wards!
I can see a clear link between the pragmatic, nurturing and caring nature of both mothers and OT’s.
Shame I am a 24 year old male 🤣

@Alex_The_OT Absolutely welcome! It is nice to see your progression, adult acute is a really interesting area! & Yes thanks, the transition to community has been great thus far, currently on intensive DBT training for PD pathway.
@JennieRed14 In my interview there were few key things, the escalation process, handling duty calls, types of interventions, patient demographic and expected conditions - best of luck hope you get it 🤞🏼👍🏼
