@MOHOspark Have you looked into Stryker? Not OT as such but he discussed how our social environment can become an identity. Think there is Tuan also but my head has gone blank (just finished a psychology Masters and confusing literature of OT with Psychology)
After dedicating the last 7 years to better myself & kids, going back to Uni, i can no longer contemplate working in the mental health field. My mental health history is continually brought up as a risk factor for my kids. Absolutely heartbroken. So much stigma is still attached
I'm presenting my research on experiences of menstruation in psychiatric hospitals at a couple conferences over the next couple of months and wanted to ask if anyone has any photos of psych ward rooms they'd be okay for me to use in presentations
Stop being ignorant about white privilege. It does NOT mean you're racist. It does NOT mean your life has been easy. It does NOT mean you don't face struggles too. It means your life isn't made harder by your skin color. THAT'S IT. HAVE SOME EMPATHY. DON'T MAKE IT ABOUT YOU.
I recently went to St George’s Hospital in London to teach @NHSEngland rheumatology doctors about female hormones. For those of you who don’t know, rheumatologists specialise in a variety of conditions that can affect your muscles or joints, so considering hormones as part of this is really important.
All of them told me that they are consulting with women regularly who have muscle and joint pains so it was an opportunity to shine a light on how low hormones can lead to a range of symptoms, including muscle and joint pains, and how HRT and also testosterone can help...
It was brilliant to be asked so many questions and see so much interest in female hormones though across the room.

How can I enjoy a movie/TV series without mentioning everything that is wrong? A nurses earnings aren't acceptable due to them being loops, a certain car being a newer model and not belonging in an older film, the wrong rope used in a climbing scene. Tips??
@AngryBlackLady I had half my guests say they'd come, but never showed up! So that was 30 meals gone to waste. Think this idea would have been a good way to filter them out. BUT the friends who came on my side had amazing gifts (I asked for nothing) by making the cake, bouquets, paid the venue
In the mines, when all the canaries started collapsing people generally thought there was something toxic in the environment rather than a batch of weak canaries. Why is is better to label more children as ill?

@b1tbyt3r@JackieD86388657 The council don't pay housing benefit. Central government pay a housing allowance when someone is on Universal Credit and this is capped. So unsure of where you got this information from
Anyone who has used IPA in their research, I could do with some help pretty please. Am I introducing previous literature that is written about in the analysis or just creating the themes then discussing existing literature in the discussion part? Im a wee confused
@JDaviesPhD Probably not what you're looking for, however I'll be talking to Brownies next week about mental health and what things bother them, what things make them happy and how that can affect their wellbeing. Recognising the signs. Also, how to help others mental health too
@adamfare1996 Had CBT for 20 years, over a number of various points in life. Never helped. They keep recommending it. No wonder I feel such a mess, as I feel like a failure for it not working and I feel even worse for it. Now I'm reluctant to discuss, for I'll just be sent to CBT again!
@HoppyPelican Having heard this phrase, or passive suicide ideation, it's made much sense. I'll never stop having those thoughts, but I envisage it just like a room and a door. I hope that makes sense? Also- I also hate having to send important messages, where others can easily do so 😢
@HoppyPelican "I could just kill myself"- I've seen it somewhere described as being trapped in a room. Sometimes the room is comfortable, sometimes it's distressing. There is a door out of the room (suicide) and it provides comfort knowing its there, but we don't use it.
@ZJAyres My babies made me realise that I was stuck in a rut. Out of the 10 years they've been born, I've spent 6 years in education trying to improve my life and their life. Yes, I feel the patriarchy society we live in (all care comes down to me), but I'm persisting to "make it"
