@Sean_Callahan i do prime rib for the past few Christmases. The 500-degree, then 2 hour method. Remember last year you said on the podcast you put veggies under the roast. Tried it this year. Veggies roasting in beef fat, plus less smoky oven. Game changer.
Student made these cutting boards "with your name in Ariel font." Another student said, "No! Use comic sans!" My hatred for comic sans is well known. While one of the best student Xmas gifts and objectively hilarious, a burning white hatred will seethe through me when I use it.
Finishing up the semester, but still doing activities relevant to the curriculum. Students describe how to draw an object to their partner without the partner seeing the drawing. They also can’t watch what the other is drawing. Love the conversations after the reveal.
Today in class, we were talking about movies.
Student: "What about Clue?"
Me: *eyes widen "You know Clue?!"
Five friends all light up: "We watched it this weekend at her birthday. We love it!"
There might be hope for this generation after all.
@cjxgator Maybe next semester! When students pick, I just let them open up Google Maps, randomly find an area of the US, and then zoom in and search for a middle school in that area. Usually enough variety. But if I remember, I'll hit you up. One MS in Reno sent us back tshirts!
Each semester, my class sends letters to other US middle schools. Writing about our school and looking for similarities/differences across the country.
Thanks to our first returns! Mountain View MS (@CVSDnews), @HCP_Eagles, Polaris K-12 (@ASDschools), Glen Edwards MS (@WPUSD).
