Patriot interceptor stocks are nearly exhausted, while F-16s are also running low on AIM-120 and AIM-9 missiles used to shoot down Russian cruise missiles, The Economist reports.

The article states that Putin is in a difficult position and that attempts by American envoys to throw him a “lifeline” are concerning. Furthermore, the pressure on Kyiv to make territorial concessions amounts to an insult to the Ukrainian people and sends a dangerous signal to Europe.

The newspaper notes that Witkoff visited Moscow multiple times but traveled to Kyiv only once. The Telegraph also contrasted the American representatives' behavior during the meetings: in Moscow, they offered Putin “smiles, praise, and ostentatious goodwill,” whereas their embraces with Zelenskyy in Kyiv appeared “perfunctory and awkward.”

The paper described the entire affair as the “Witkoff-Kushner circus,” stating that such diplomacy threatens to confirm fears regarding US support for Ukraine under Trump—namely, that it amounts to “more hot air than genuine military strength.”

🔹 13 vessels of the Russian "shadow fleet" were struck in the Black Sea.

The Secretary of National Defense of the Philippines, Gilberto C. Teodoro, Jr, gave a master class in diplomacy at the Seoul Defense Dialogue.

While speaking about how China is invading waters and territories which belong to the Philippines, the Chinese slipped him a text with.

He wouldn’t have any of it and quickly scolded the Chinese. He said that their coercive acts, including the attempt to steer his statements during the conference will only backfire as they reveal China’s true nature on the international stage.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has approved a record 7.51 billion lira (€166.5 million) in funding for the Turkish Islamist Maarif Foundation in 2026.

The state-funded Maarif Foundation operates hundreds of educational institutions around the world and promotes Turkey’s religious and ideological influence abroad. The foundation now says it conducts educational activities in 66 countries, through 542 educational institutions, serving 75,000+ students.

The funding comes as ordinary Turks continue to struggle with a severe cost-of-living squeeze. Annual inflation remains above 30%, while Turkey’s net minimum wage is just 28,075 lira, around €500 a month.

Turkey also backs the Muslim Brotherhood, the world’s largest and best-organized Islamist group. It does that alongside Qatar.

The Muslim Brotherhood is banned in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, and several other Arab and Middle Eastern countries.
